Planted firmly in the ground for almost 40 years Schouten Machines BV started in 1971 as a regional distributor of agricultural equipment and was able to become a leading national manufacturer and supplier of ditchers and rotary mowers in approximately 10 years time. This growth manifested itself gradually in the production of other types of machines such as cultivators and sweepers. And this growth was not limited to the Netherlands. At the end of the eighties they went across the countries borders determined to succeed, to triumphantly return with Vigolo , rotor tiller and harrows and Regent , ploughs and machines for weed control. The high growth however, was not started until the early nineties, partly stimulated by developments in the field of low emission manure application. After the introduction of the first grassland injector and slurry injector in 1992 Quadro compact pump tank, the Sprinter injector, the Spider Kombi disc coulter injector, the Ideal Vacuum slurry and pump tanker and Schouten Long Sleep System . Simultaneously, export became so important within the organization, that now there may be a pan-European market area. After the takeover of the famous STH (garden, park and water machines), Schouten Machines BV is also active in the green industry and the cleaning technique since 2000. Also among the STH -machine package is a section of client specific machines. Here, at the request of customers, specially built machines for many different activities and applications are developed. Currently there are approximately 25 enthusiastic staff active in the company where service and flexibility are still the key words. Sales of products is done via dealer networks. There are also direct sales channels. Throughout the Netherlands Schouten Machines maintains contact with more than 1,000 contractors, farmers, water managements and municipalities, and approximately 500 mechanization companies, 50 of which are dealer in the particular areas of garden, park- and slurry technology. |
